Ruby Popescu, the oldest child of John Avram and Lena (Feica) Avram, celebrated her 90th birthday on August 14, 2001, coincidentally that is also the birthday of Danny Segin (son of Bill and Violet (Feica) Segin, he was born in 1932). Scores of relatives got together in Regina, Saskatchewan on July 21st to actually celebrate Ruby's milestone. The picture to the right is the hall where the festivities were held. As you can see it was nicely decorated and from what I am told it was a great opportunity to honor a great woman. Percy Avram, Ruby's cousin, tells me he had a chance to "roast" her and there were good-natured barbs and comments all night.
